Design Researcher & Strategist passionate for discovery and problem solving

I discovered Human Centered Computing while I was studying Computer Science  and fell in love with the multidisciplinary work and the impact it can drive.

My strengths are in qualitative research and product strategy. I have had experience learning about both the users and the business in education, human services, health and insurance. As I partner with stakeholders and manage mixed-methods research, I have grown as a product strategy enthusiast and am passionate for advocating for the customer in that setting. I’m a tech generalist, with a strong understanding of the cross-functional product space. I have experience as a programmer, an academic researcher, a mentor, UX researcher and Product Manager.

While currently working and growing as a design researcher, I am open to roles int UX strategy and UX-focused Product Management.

Working for impact

Root was my first full time role in industry and I enjoyed experimenting, leading research for my team, building the research practice with my colleagues and working to promote financial equity!

Grad final chapter

During my final year, I worked with the Connected HealthCare team at Microsoft in collaboration with Purdue Corporate Consulting. I led the UX research on this project and worked with my design partners to prototype and learn UI design.

I also got selected to be the lead project owner in the Purdue Design Studio and overlooked the student teams working on client projects.

Last but not least, I focused my graduate capstone on exploring my combined interest in ethics and product. This is work I am looking to publish soon and share with the practitioner community!

May 2020 - Aug 2020

summer of experiments

This was my first summer in the US and I spent it exploring what I wanted to do after I graduated.

I did two different internships; as a UXR and a PM, learned about product management and found that I enjoyed work across different domains of engineering and design and wanted to learn more about product strategy.

I also got to study the Ethics space in technology and learnt how to be mindful about it in my everyday work.

Aug 2019 - May 2020

grad and us immigration

During graduate school I learned more about the distinctions between academic and UX Research and found UXR to be my strength within UX.

I also worked with an industry client as part of Purdues Design Studio and got experience working on UX projects in industry.

Sep 2018 - Dec 2020

Building a vision

I worked with the non-profit for two years during which I developed and led a program which is very close to my heart and something I am very proud of. Working on this taught me that if you have the drive and right support, anything is possible!

Aug 2015 - May 2019

Undergrad life

My tech journey started during my undergraduate in Computer Science during which other than the required programming classes, I also took courses in different domains such as data science, HCI, networks, AI, computer graphics.

I found my passion in HCI and worked on projects with local communities with one of my favorites being in EdTech.

I also worked on creating a documentary and learned skills in production, cinematography and editing.

Thinking back now I realize I have always enjoyed listening to people and have been doing research for quite a while!
